Cryo Hop Experiment
Question: Do cryo hops make a preferred difference hop flavor and aroma as compared to T-90 pellets?
Hypothesis: Cryo hops provide a fresher, more intense flavor and aroma than T-90 pellets
Brewing Sessions Needed: 1
Protocol:
1. Produce 5 or 10 gallons of wort for an APA or AIPAaccording to the following recipes.
2. Split the wort into two boil kettles
3. Use the same hops schedule for both batches, but using cryo hops in one and T-90 pellets in the other. All other parameters of the batches are the same.
Evaluation: (evaluation questiuons will be added later)
Triangle Test: Perform a standard triangle test with 2 samples from one batch and one from the other. Correct tasters proceed to the sensory evaluation
Sensory evaluation: Have tasters complete the evaluation form with sensory perceptions and beer preferences.

Recipe Notes:
You’ll need to provide your own bittering hops and do the recipe calculation for them. Remember, the important thing is for everything to be the same other than the form of hops. That means you can decide your own whirlpool time and temp, as long as both batches are the same.
In this experiment, should we wait until after fermentation is complete to dry hop?
The reason why I'm asking is that I've heard that it's possible to pick up grassy flavors when attempting the biotransformation thing and dry hopping during active fermentation. Cryo hops should reduce that effect.
Also, is the dry hop duration something we're standardizing on?
yes, absolutely

I am brewing tomorrow and should be dry hopping for 3 days, is that what everyone is doing or they did?
Thank you,

Hey Miguel! We didn't specify a dry hop time for the experiment. It doesn't matter much as long as you do both batches the same.
