Cooling methods

Is there any danger in pouring the wort over ice to cool it down quicker than an ice bath? Seems like a 7lb bag of ice from the gas station, along with cold water to round out the 5 gallons, would go a long way to cooling it down closer to the fermentation temperature.

Chemtech-  my only worry is on the amount of potential critters in your grocery store/gas station ice. As long as you pitch a good quantity of yeast (via starter or dry packs) I suspect you'll be fine, but it's a big corner to cut, so pay attention as you look to cut others!
