In a first for the podcast, we have a guest interview. IGOR Eric Pierce brings us a conversation with John Wei of Brewlander & Co in Singapore. How did he get started with good beer? What does it take to find ingredients and why did make the job to go pro? Find out! We also sit down and cover the beer world - Hazy IPA going national, Drew's quixotic LA quest, the notion of courtesy scoring and hey.. what's that? Why yes, we're announcing another experiment! Sit back and get ready to listen!

The concept of a "courtesy score" in grading a beer ruins the entire purpose of the scoring sheet. For any beer receiving the courtesy score one should understand that the real score is less than or equal to the value shown. The brewer of that beer would be a fool to believe the actual score of the beer was actually the score received, and you are doing nothing for the brewer of the poor-quality beer by lying. The "dick" is the one who insists, "We must not harm the feelings of the brewer by telling the truth." If the real score is in question, the score has to be determined at the judging table.
